Rocky Mountain Martial Arts will be hosting the 132nd Dan Classing Championships in Carbondale, Colorado on October 4-5, 2013. This event will make history as we introduce the new sparring format that the Moo Duk Kwan is introducing. This format will soon be showcased at the National Festival and all Region 8 Tournaments. The theme for the weekend will be “Choong Yong”, meaning “the middle way” where we will seek a balance of Um and Yang in a dynamic, ever-changing world. Pre-register before September 6, 2013 for the best pricing available.

*Please note that we are now charging $40 for Dans to participate on Friday in addition to the $40 Gup Clinic on Saturday. Dans can choose to attend just Saturday or both Friday/Saturday.

Dan Candidate Workout
This afternoon session is only open to Testing Candidates and is officially the start of the test. During this time, the format of the test will be given and opportunities to practice and acquire proper group harmony. The In Neh and Written portion of your test will occur during this time. This is a mandatory attendance class for the candidates. Instructors: Brian Corrales, Sa Bom.
Judges Seminar
During this initial seminar of the weekend, we will present the new sparring format based on the 5 Moo Do Values that will be incorporated in future National Conventions and Region 8 tournaments. This seminar is focused on training dan members how to be effective judges by teaching principles to help you acquire an “eye” for identifying the application of the 5 Moo Do Values in sparring. Dan Sparring Seminar
During the second part of Friday’s set of seminars, we will learn basic principles and techniques that will help us begin applying the new sparring format in our training. Neh Gong Seminar
Participate in this unique Neh Gong Seminar where you will learn some of the unique, historical health exercises of ancient China that were incorporated in the early days of the Moo Duk Kwan. Learn a unique variation of the Moo Pahl Dan Kuhm (8 Brocade), the Yuk Keun Kyung (Changing Tendon Exercises), and a meditative technique called “beating the heavenly drums”. Friends and families are encouraged to participate in this low-impact, health-promoting class. Instructor: Brian Corrales, Sa Bom
All Rank Seminar
In this Saturday morning session, we will have a series of lightning rounds with various drills to help support the new sparring format. Instructors: Oliver Whitcomb, Sa Bom; Jeff Griggs, Sa Bom; Jennifer Gibbons, Sa Bom; Brian Corrales, Sa Bom.
133rd Dan Classing Potential Candidate Workout
Anyone who would like to test during the 133rd Dan Classings during the Spring of 2014 needs to attend this class with Griggs, Sa Bom Nim (Our TAC Representative). This will be a pre-evaluation where you will receive constructive feedback on how you can best prepare for your next promotion. Instructor: Jeff Griggs, Sa Bom.
Regional Examiner Help Seminar
This one-hour seminar will be tailored to the individual and collective needs of the membership. As a part of the registration process, you will be asked to state areas you wish to improve. From the list of responses, the Regional Examiners will create a seminar tailored to the majority of responders. Seminar may be broken up into various segments. You must submit a proposed topic to qualify to participate. Instructors: Various Ko Dan Ja

Dan Classing Championship
The Dan Classing Championships is the main event of the weekend where the testing candidates will test in front of the Examination Board. This is open to the public.
